My first week in london I was asked to be in a short film as a favour for a mate of mine Ryan Styles. I ended up in a fabulous house owned by hat designer Piers Atkinson. I was lucky enough to see a table full of his creations before they hit the runway. I was hell impressed. I just had to shoot them immediately. any excuse. here's my shoot... exclusively for the pop magazine.

here's my blurb for Piers Atkinson Feature.
"BOYS WILL BE TOYS" starring JETHRO CAVE and SOPHIE WILLING, inspired by PIERS ATKINSON's "SEX ON THE BRAIN" collection. Photographed by ELVIS DI FAZIO
Fashion Editor Stefanie Wilcox Introducing Piers Atkinson.
From the depths of his fabulous Dalston abode, Piers Atkinson has created a tantalizing new ‘hat’ collection.
Inspired by SEX, FETISH AND COMEDY! Atkinson presents his collection for SS10; 'SEX ON THE BRAIN!'
Provocative and humorous, Piers’ latest millinery range plays with pop, porn and fetishism.
Piers dismembers the conventions of the milliner's handcraft; apologetically ripping the hat's polite connotations to shreds and presenting us with delightfully lewd and lascivious pieces. Bondage-gear and pop-pieces are reborn as decadent head-wear. Balaclavas strewn with pearls over the sides of the mouth suggest a good creaming from a heavy load of cum. Gags have been re-designed to plug mouths with unexpected glittered out sized cherry (luscious when worn with glossy red lips!). These not-so-cheap but certainly cheerful hats are worn as headbands transformed with horny naked dollies riding PVC bananas. And this is just a taste of the cheeky and beautifully executed pieces Piers has created this season.
While perhaps not the appropriate choice for a family wedding, the statement value of these pieces is sure to get fashion thrill-seekers hot.
One look at SEX ON THE BRAIN! and Piers’ club-kid roots are obvious. While the scene continues to splinter, the spirit of creativity and glorious defiance lives on in his latest work.
For those unfamiliar with Piers, his accomplishments include an appearance at the V&A's exhibition ‘Hats: An Anthology by Steven Jones’ and commissions for top stylists Nicola Formichetti, Francesca Burns, Jacob K and Patti Wilson. His designs have graced the crowns of Tim Burton, Lily Allen and Cate Blanchett, and one of his creations appeared on fashionista mantelpieces around the globe as the image on Vogue's 2008 Christmas Card shot by Nick Knight.
Piers does not create with hefty profit margins in mind, although he successfully sells in fashion capitals London, New York, Milan and Tokyo. For Piers the pieces are about shock value, art, narrative and his signature tongue-in-cheek wit. Most of all, his designs tell us all to chill the fuck out - life is too short to take too seriously. Piers creates to get a rise out of you, and with this pop-porn range he certainly succeeds. SEX ON THE BRAIN! is fashion's wet dream.
